On this page you will meet some people very near and dear to me. In order to protect their privacy and any embarrassment caused by comments I may make, I have changed their names. This is done at the request of my oldest daughter. She doesn't trust me. I wonder why. (smiling)

bead-Anything with a hole or two made for stringing on a
thread or wire. Can be big or small and can be made of
many different materials.
cabochon- A stone or gem that has no hole for stringing on
thread or wire. pronounced; cab-you-sh-awn
flat head chasing hammer-hammer used to flatten and hard wire.
Has a flat head on one side and a ball peen on the
other side. Ball peen will flatten, harden and give
texture to wire.
half domed chasing hammer- same as flat head chasing hammer
except main head is slightly domed so it won't leave
marks on wire.
gauge-unit of measure for wire. The larger the number the
smaller the wire and vice-a-verse-a.
jig-small metal or plastic board with holes; used with pegs to
bend wire into consistent shapes.
jump ring-a small metal ring used in making chain maille and
connecting jewelry components. can make your own by
using a mandrel and cutters or buy them.
lobster claw clasp- an elongated clasp, rounded and shaped like a
lobster claw. Used with a jump ring to as a closer for
jewelry.
mandrel-a bar made of metal or wood; used for wrapping metal
around. May be round or shaped; long or short. Usually
attached to a handle.
ring mandrel- a long conical bar used for shaping rings sizes
1-15.
ring sizer- a set of circlets sized 1-15 used to measure the
circumference of a finger. Any number with a minus sign
after it is a half size. (example: 7- is a 7 1/2 ring size)
Wire- comes in different gauges, colors and types of metal
Wire Beads-same as beads except made of wire, sometimes
much larger.
